Mr. Clendening brings more than 25 years of experience in the financial services and consumer goods industries to Blucora. In addition to serving as President and Chief Executive Officer at Blucora, he also serves on the Board at Betterment.

Prior to joining the company, Mr. Clendening was Executive Vice President and Co-Head of the Investor Services Division at Charles Schwab & Co, where he was instrumental in repositioning the firm as a high-value wealth management company. During his 11 years at Charles Schwab, Mr. Clendening also held a number of roles of increasing responsibility, including Executive Vice President, Shared Strategic Services and Chief Executive Officer and Executive Vice President, Charles Schwab Bank.

Previously, Mr. Clendening also worked as Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President, Consumer Banking Group and Senior Vice President, Marketing and Strategy, Credit Card Division for First Union Corporation. In addition, he has served in leadership roles at eMac Digital LLC, Living.Com, The Coca-Cola Company, Frito-Lay, Inc. Division of PepsiCo, SEARS Specialty Merchandising Group and Booz-Allen & Hamilton, Inc.

Mr. Clendening received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Northwestern University, and a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard.

Eric Emans Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

Eric Emans has served as Blucora’s Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer since August 2011. Before accepting these roles, he served as the company’s Chief Accounting Officer beginning in January 2008. Mr. Emans joined InfoSpace in 2003 and has held roles including Corporate Controller, Manager of Revenue Assurance, and Senior Manager of Finance.

Prior to joining the company, Mr. Emans served as Director of Operations at Corbis Mobile where he was responsible for mobile business operations. He began his career at Deloitte and Touche LLP where he served as an auditor.

Mr. Emans holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Western Washington University and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Washington.

Sanjay Baskaran President of TaxAct

Mr. Baskaran has more than 20 years experience serving in leadership roles within the technology and finance industry, with deep experience in technology-oriented businesses.

Most recently, Mr. Baskaran served as General Manager, North America Credit Cards at Amazon. While serving in that role he was the P&L owner of a large customer centric credit card business that built and served consumers and businesses with multiple products such as the recently launched Amazon Prime Visa Signature Card, and others such as the Prime Store Card, Amazon Corporate Credit Line, and Amazon.ca Rewards Visa Card. Prior to working at Amazon, he served in leadership roles of increasing responsibility at Visa and HSBC Bank, as well as holding positions at Deloitte & Touche as a management consultant, and Dr. Reddy’s Group as an executive in the company’s Latin America International Marketing Group.

Sanjay earned his B Tech in Chemical Engineering from College of Technology, Osmania University and an MBA in Marketing & Supply Chain from Michigan State University.

Ann Bruder Chief Legal Officer and Secretary

Ms. Bruder, 53, previously served as the Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary at Airlines Reporting Corporation, or ARC, which is a leading provider of data, products and services to the travel industry, from 2015 through 2017. She served as the President of Global Strategic Services, LLC, a boutique strategic advisory firm, from 2014 through 2015. Prior to that, she was employed by Commercial Metals Company (“CMC”), a publicly traded global company with sales and operations in more than 40 countries, from 2007 through 2013. At CMC, Ms. Bruder served as the Senior Vice President of Law, Government Affairs and Global Compliance, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary from 2009 through 2013 and the Deputy General Counsel from 2007 through 2009. Earlier in her career, she served in various legal roles at CARBO Ceramics Inc., American Airlines, Inc., Continental Airlines, Inc. and the law firm of Thompson Coburn LLP. Ms. Bruder has a Juris Doctorate degree from Washington University and Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Public Relations with a minor in Economics from the University of Wyoming.

Todd Mackay was named as Executive Vice President of Corporate Development for Blucora in 2015 after advising the company for more than a year. In this capacity he is responsible for Blucora's mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, and corporate and business partnerships.

A seasoned technology executive with nearly 20 years' experience, Mr. Mackay has managed operations and finances for privately held, publicly traded, and growth companies. Previously, he was the co-founder of P2B Investor, a crowd funding business providing working capital loans to small and medium sized businesses; served as Executive Vice President in charge of Finance and Corporate Development for Emerge Digital Group, a privately held digital media company where he was responsible for revenue growth from $7.5 million to $50 million in less than two years; and was Executive Vice President of Global Corporate Development and Corporate Treasury for E*TRADE Financial where his leadership help increase revenues of the company from $300 million to more than $2.5 billion.

As well, Mr. Mackay has held various executive positions with Telebanc Financial Corp, Robertson Stephens and Alex Brown focusing on financial institutions and financial technologies.

Mr. Mackay received an A.B. from Princeton University in Economics with an emphasis in Mathematics.

Robert Oros CEO, HD Vest Financial Services®

Bob Oros is the CEO of HD Vest Financial Services® managing the day to-day operations and directing the future of the firm, which has approximately 300 employees based in Irving, Texas. He was named as CEO in February 2017. Mr. Oros has more than 20 years of sales and operational experience and has served in leadership roles at leading brokerage and investment advisory firms where he had a strong track record of successfully recruiting and retaining advisors.

Before becoming CEO of HD Vest, Mr. Oros served as the Executive Vice President, Head of the RIA Segment, Fidelity Clearing & Custody. As head of the registered investment advisors segment for Fidelity Clearing & Custody, he was responsible for the growth and retention of the RIAs and recordkeepers on Fidelity’s platform, which services more than 3,500 clients in the bank, B-D, RIA and retirement recordkeeper segments. He lead a team of hundreds of associates who provide RIAs access to a flexible, open-technology environment, extensive practice management resources, wealth management investments and related execution and custody services. In that role, Mr. Oros also oversaw the retirement strategy for Fidelity Custody & Clearing, providing retirement tools, resources and consulting services to advisors who service retirement plans helping them stay at the forefront of their industry. 

Prior to Fidelity, Mr. Oros served as a National Sales Manager at Trust Company of America, Executive Vice President and Head of Custom Clearing Services at LPL Financial, and Vice President at Charles Schwab.

In addition to serving as a Board Member and Chair of the Corporate Development Committee at the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation, Mr. Oros also serves on the Board of the Foundation for Financial Planning. Married to his wife Lisa for 10 years, he is the proud father of 4 children and 2 dogs.

Mr. Oros has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Economics from Central Michigan University, and has completed graduate work in finance at Walsh College. He holds NASD Series 7, 24 and 63 brokerage licenses.

Mr. Stevenson is Blucora’s first enterprise-wide Chief Marketing Officer leading marketing efforts for Blucora and its business units including TaxAct and HD Vest. He brings the company deep experience in data and analytics and performance marketing through digital channels and new-media platforms.

A tested marketing leader with stops at Mckinsey & Company, HomeAway Inc. and Capital One, Mr. Stevenson comes to Blucora after having served most recently as Chief Strategy Officer for Catalina Marketing Corporation where he lead corporate strategy. With nearly 15 years’ experience in corporate marketing strategy, he has worked in multiple industries straddling both business-to-business and business-to-consumer, with much of that experience in the financial services industry.

Mr. Stevenson is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and attended the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University receiving his Masters of Business Administration.
