William J. Ruckelshaus became the Company’s President and CEO in November 2010 after serving as a board member since May 2007.
Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Ruckelshaus previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Audience Science, Inc., a venture–backed advertising technology and services company.
Prior to Audience Science, Mr. Ruckelshaus was Senior Vice President, Corporate Development for Expedia, Inc., where he oversaw Expedia's mergers and acquisitions and led strategic planning and cross–company business development efforts.
Mr. Ruckelshaus came to Expedia from Credit Suisse First Boston Technology Group, where he was a Director of Mergers & Acquisitions focusing on services, software and Internet verticals.
Mr. Ruckelshaus is a graduate of Princeton University and the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
George Allen was appointed Blucora’s Executive Vice President, Corporate Development in May 2012 after working with the Company as a consultant since October 2011. He is responsible for managing the Company’s mergers and acquisitions activities and its overall new business development efforts.
Most recently, Mr. Allen was the founder and managing partner of Geronimo Capital, an investment research firm focused on the telecom, media and technology mid-cap investment sector. Prior to that role, Mr. Allen served as principal for nine years at Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm where he oversaw private equity investments within telecom, media and technology companies. His experience at Warburg Pincus also involved corporate mergers and acquisitions, board oversight, executive recruiting and capital markets activities related to the investment portfolio.
Before joining Warburg Pincus, Mr. Allen was responsible for acquiring fixed wireless spectrum in European markets as vice president of business development at Firstmark Communications. began his corporate development career as an associate at Goldman Sachs Asia. Mr. Allen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering at Yale University.
Eric Emans has served as Blucora’s Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer since August 2011. Before accepting these roles, he served as the Company’s chief accounting officer beginning in January 2008 after serving as corporate controller for InfoSpace since 2006. He had previously held various positions at the Company from September 2003 to December 2005, including Manager, Revenue Assurance and Senior Manager, Finance.
Prior to returning to the Company in 2006, Mr. Emans served as Director of Operations at Corbis Mobile where he was responsible for mobile business operations. Eric began his career at Deloitte & Touche LLP where he served as an auditor.
Emans holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Western Washington University and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Washington.
Michael Glover was appointed President of InfoSpace in April 2013 and is responsible for all aspects of the search business unit. Prior to his promotion to President, Mr. Glover led InfoSpace distribution and strategic partner strategy as its Vice President of Distribution and Business Development since October 2008.
Previous to his role as Vice President, Mr. Glover held various positions in business development since joining InfoSpace in 2000. Prior to that, Mr. Glover was director of marketing at Uniglobe.com, an online travel agency. He began his career at Sterling Management as a product manager.
Glover is a graduate from Oregon State University where he received his bachelor's degree in business administration.
Ms. Kintzel serves as President of Blucora’s TaxACT business unit, with responsibility for leading the strategy, operations and overall business objectives of TaxACT. Ms. Kintzel joined the Company upon the acquisition of the TaxACT business by Blucora in January 2012.
Prior to joining Blucora, Ms. Kintzel served as President of 2nd Story Software, the operator of the TaxACT business, since June 2010, and had served as 2nd Story’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer beginning in 2006.
Prior to TaxACT, Kintzel served more than three years at AEGON USA Investment Management, a global life insurance and investment provider, as Vice President, Assistant Controller and Senior Accounting Manager. Previous to AEGON, Kintzel served as a leader in a variety of financial and operational roles with Parsons Technology, and its successor organizations.
Kintzel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Mount Mercy College.
Justin Law was appointed as InfoSpace's Vice President of Product and Technology in February 2012. He is responsible for strategic vision of the Company's search products, and oversees all areas in the development and implementation of technology related initiatives.
Law has more than 15 years of accomplishments in product leadership and technology in the mobile, search, advertising and e-commerce industries. His experience spans Fortune 500, mid-sized and venture backed technology start-ups.
Most recently, Law was the Director of Product Management for Amdocs Interactive, where he was responsible for the company's portfolio of commerce products. Prior to serving at Amdocs, Law was the Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Product for venture-backed startup, Bright Hub, Inc., where he led the product strategy and development of an expert content generation and monetization ecosystem.
Law is familiar with many of his colleagues and the company culture at InfoSpace. From 2005 - 2007, he was the Senior Director of Mobile Search for Infospace, and was responsible for the development and distribution of mobile search. Previous to that, Justin was Product Principal at America Online (AOL), where he led the invention, development and launch of patented technologies in both web search and advertising. He joined AOL through the acquisition of OneMade, Inc., a venture financed firm that operated an e-commerce marketplace exchange, where he served as the CTO and VP of Product. Law earned his bachelor's degree from The State University of New York College at Oswego, and a Master of Science degree from Tufts University.
Linda Schoemaker was appointed as the Company’s General Counsel and Secretary in June 2011. She represents the Company on legal and operational matters and plays an important role in developing and implementing the Company's corporate strategy.
Ms. Schoemaker most recently served as counsel for Verdiem Corporation, a power management software company. Prior to that, she served as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for aQuantive, Inc., a digital marketing service and technology company, from February 2004 until its acquisition by Microsoft Corporation in August 2007. From December 2000 to February 2004, she served as senior vice president and general counsel of Advanced Digital Information Corporation (ADIC), a manufacturer of tape libraries and storage management software, which is now part of Quantum Corp.
Previous to joining ADIC, Ms. Schoemaker was a partner in the law firm Perkins Coie LLP, and a member of the firm's Executive Committee. Her practice focused on corporate finance, including public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital. She joined Perkins Coie LLP in September 1989 and was admitted as a partner in January 1996.
Ms. Schoemaker received a Bachelor's degree in social studies from Harvard University and earned her juris doctorate from the University of Michigan.
