President and Chief Executive Officer

Christopher Walters has been President and CEO of Blucora since January 2020 and a member of the company’s Board of Directors since 2014. Prior to joining Blucora, Mr. Walters served as a Senior Partner with Activate, a consulting firm focused on technology, media and digital businesses. From 2015 to 2018, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Encompass Digital Media, Inc. Mr. Walters joined Encompass from The Weather Company, where he served as the Chief Operating Officer from 2012 to 2015. Prior to The Weather Company, he served in a variety of leadership roles at Bloomberg L.P. between 2008 and 2012, most recently as the Chief Operating Officer of the Bloomberg Industry Verticals Group, responsible for operations, strategy, business development, and expansion of the premium web-based subscription businesses. Previously, Mr. Walters was a partner at McKinsey & Co., advising media, entertainment, and investment companies. Mr. Walters is a member of the Atlanta Board of Directors for Year Up, an organization dedicated to closing the opportunity divide for urban young adults by providing them with the skills, experience and support to empower them to reach their potential through professional careers and higher education. Walters holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration of the University of Vermont and an MBA from The University of Chicago.

    Chief Legal, Development and Administration Officer
    Ms. Bruder previously served as the Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary at Airlines Reporting Corporation, or ARC, which is a leading provider of data, products and services to the travel industry, from 2015 through 2017. She served as the President of Global Strategic Services, LLC, a boutique strategic advisory firm, from 2014 through 2015. Prior to that, she was employed by Commercial Metals Company (“CMC”), a publicly traded global company with sales and operations in more than 40 countries, from 2007 through 2013. At CMC, Ms. Bruder served as the Senior Vice President of Law, Government Affairs and Global Compliance, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary from 2009 through 2013 and the Deputy General Counsel from 2007 through 2009. Earlier in her career, she served in various legal roles at CARBO Ceramics Inc., American Airlines, Inc., Continental Airlines, Inc. and the law firm of Thompson Coburn LLP. Ms. Bruder has a Juris Doctorate degree from Washington University and Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Public Relations with a minor in Economics from the University of Wyoming.
      President of Software

      Mr. Campbell brings more than 20 years of technology industry experience. Most recently as the Managing Vice President for Capital One’s Consumer Auto business division where he was responsible for setting business vision and strategy, while delivering exceptional experiences for consumers and dealers. Prior to Capital One, Mr. Campbell served in a variety of executive roles at Intuit, including leading Product, Innovation, Strategy and Analytics in the tax space. Prior to Intuit, Mr. Campbell held several positions of increasing responsibility at Amazon Web Services, Dell and HP. Under his leadership, Amazon Web Services launched over 200 new services, helping to make Amazon the top provider of cloud services worldwide. Mr. Campbell earned his undergraduate degree from the Citadel Military College and a Master of International Business from the University of South Carolina.

        Chief Human Resources Officer

        Jody Diaz SPHR, MBA most recently worked as the Chief People Officer at Learfield IMG College, a business focused on multimedia rights for college athletics. She previously has held leadership roles as the Chief Human Resources Officer for four other companies including Rent A Center (RCII), Ace Cash Express, United Surgical Partners and Viant. Jody started her career working as an Accountant/Auditor for Price Waterhouse in Toronto, Canada before she was recruited to work for Frito Lay in Dallas. She then expanded her career by working at Deloitte as a Management Consultant for top tier clients including: BellSouth and State Farm Insurance. Jody earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Magna Cum Laude) in Accounting from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada and a Master of Business Administration Degree in Human Resources and Organization Development from the University of Dallas, in Dallas, Texas. Jody also has her SPHR & SHRM certifications and Insurance License for Group Health & Life.

          Chief Growth and Marketing Officer

          Raj Doshi is the Chief Growth & Marketing Officer at Blucora. Prior to joining Blucora, Raj was the SVP of Sales and Business Development at Updater, a technology company that makes the process of moving much easier for millions of US households each year.

           

          From 2011-2016, Raj was at Google, where he held roles overseeing strategy and operations for the Americas advertisting sales organization and customer acquisition for Google Fiber. Prior to Google, he spent eight years at McKinsey & Company leading strategy engagements for Fortune 100 corporations, large non-profit organizations, and government agencies.

           

          Raj holds a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Virginia, a Masters Degree in International Economics from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

            SVP of Operational Performance

            Ms. Gajdalo was named SVP of Operational Performance in April 2020. She joined Blucora in 2018 as the VP of Data, Analytics and Machine Learning. Prior to Blucora, Ms. Gajdalo spent seven years at LPL Financial, where she served in several leadership roles including SVP of Business & Human Intelligence. Ms. Gajdalo also co-founded Piedmonte Insurance & Financial Services and served as President and Owner from 2009-2011. Ms. Gajdalo earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California, Los Angeles.

              Chief Information Officer

              Mr. Lehman was named Blucora’s Chief Information Officer in April 2020. Prior to joining Blucora, Mr. Lehman served as the Chief Information Officer at Optiv, a cybersecurity company. From 2010-2016, Mr. Lehman was the SVP then CIO of Global Technology Services at Experian. Prior to Experian, Mr. Lehman also served in various leadership roles with Affiliated Computer Services (a Xerox Company), Accenture, FedEx and Bank of America. Mr. Lehman received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Christian Brothers University.

                President of Avantax Wealth Management

                Todd Mackay has served as the President of Avantax since April 2020. From June 2019 to April 2020, Mr. Mackay served as the Chief Business Operations and Development Officer. From December 2018 to June 2019, Mr. Mackay served as Executive Vice President of Corporate Development and Interim CEO of HD Vest (which is now Avantax Wealth Management). Prior to that, Mr. Mackay served as the Executive Vice President and Interim General Manager of TaxAct from May 2018 until December 2018. Mr. Mackay also served as the Company’s Executive Vice President of Corporate Development since 2015, and prior to that, Mr. Mackay served as an advisor to the Company’s executive team focusing on strategy and mergers and acquisitions from 2014 to 2015. Mr. Mackay was a co-founder of P2B Investor, a crowd funding business providing working capital loans to small- and medium-sized businesses, where he served on the executive team from 2013 to 2014. In addition, Mr. Mackay served as Executive Vice President in charge of Finance and Corporate Development for Emerge Digital Group, a privately held digital media company, from 2011 to 2012. Mr. Mackay served in various executive positions at E*Trade from 1999 to 2010, where he served as the Executive Vice President in charge of Global Corporate Development and Corporate Treasury and Executive Vice President in charge of E*Trade’s Asian broker-dealer business. Mr. Mackay has also held various positions with Telebanc Financial Corp., Robertson Stephens and Alex Brown focusing on financial institutions and financial technologies. He has also served on the board of directors of both private and public broker dealers outside of the United States. Mr. Mackay received an A.B. from Princeton University in Economics with an emphasis on Mathematics.

                  Chief Financial Officer

                  Marc Mehlman has served in various leadership positions at Thomson Reuters Corporation (“Thomson Reuters”) over the past 15 years, primarily focused on finance, financial strategy, and business operations. Most recently, as General Manager, Mr. Mehlman built and led both the Large and Strategic Corporate customer segments where he and his team were responsible for the entirety of Thomson Reuters business to large multi-national corporations. In this capacity, he led a 600-person team across sales, retention and proposition roles across Europe and the United States. Prior to that, he served as Managing Director of ONESOURCE Direct Tax, from January 2016 to June 2018, where he was responsible for leading the tax preparation segment of the business; Vice President Finance/Operations of ONESOURCE, from August 2013 to December 2015, where he was responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business; Vice President Investor Relations; Vice President Business Development; Head of Financial Strategy – Sales & Trading; and Director of Finance – Scientific Division. Before joining Thomson Reuters, Mehlman served as a portfolio manager at investment firm Sanford C. Bernstein. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University and a Master of Business Administration from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.
